Kenya's Space Infrastructure Kenya is one of the world's poorer countries, though it has a tradition of more organized state structure than its neighbors. Not only does it not have an agency however, but also no infrastructure in which one would arise, despite the University of Nairobi's standing as one of the more prominent African schools, it does not confer degrees in space related fields like astrophysics, astronautics or aeronautics. It does confer degrees in engineering though. The government has no ministry devoted to science of this type. Kenya has no history of being part of any organization dealing with space, nor has any launch capability. Kenya lacks the industrial base, the educational base and the political foundation for a process like this to occur within it. Kenya operates no satellites and, not having a presence, has no space power. The government of Kenya in Nairobi has no plans for attempting to further any ambition in space development or research.
